Childhood:

Sanjay was born on 19th july in Patna. He hails from a traditional Kayastha family. His grandfather Dr. Ramgopal Prasad Sinha wanted Sanjay to become a doctor as well, but he had other ideas.Right from his school days,Sanjay was inclined towards writing and other cultural activities. He inculcated within himself the habits like acting in theatres, writing, giving speech and of course stand up for justice. His father Dr. S.P.Sinha ,his uncles and all their  sons are in medical proffesion,so it was but natural for him too to follow suit. But Sanjay’s interests were far from that.Sanjay recollects,’when my other friends used to play various chidhood games,I used sit away from them and used to give words to my feelings.I used to lock the door of my room from inside and act in front of the mirror.’

He further says,’I always had this to do something different,so that I could make a name from myself and be recognised.’

Even though Sanjay’s family members were not all that happy with his activities, but his mother Sushila Sinha used to support him at every step of the way.Being a teacher and Bhajan singer herself,Sushila jee soon realised, that her son is on the right path.

‘My mother always encouraged me.She used to express her opinion on all my creative activities as a friend. She used to scold me if I couldn’t perform well in theatres, but she also loved me a lot!’Sanjay further states,’She was a disciplinerian, but at the same time she had a very soft  side to her as well. She was a very caring mother, who used to often save me from my father’s anger.

School days:

‘School days were out of this world.Away from all the worldly turbulences it was fun time.I still miss my school days.’Sanjay says,’I used to have lots of fun with my friends. But I was always inclined towards creativity.Since I wanted to create a niche for myself that’s why  I was popular among my peers.’

Sanjay was educated in a Convent school in Patna. After that his parents shifted to West Bengal.Even though he was always a meritorious student,Sanjay sometimes indulged in mischiefs too. There was an incident when he along with some of his friends kept a turtle under their class teacher’s chair. As the classteacher was very strict they wanted to get back at her.She was scared of frogs. So as she entered the classroom the the turtle suddenly lept at her.Scared to death,She was running healter skelter.

‘Some of my friend rushed to help her,but I couldn’t help but laugh.Althrough I was also caught later on and the teacher punished me.But soon I became her favourite student.’

College days:

‘Now I was about to enter a new phase in my life,as college beckoned.I had lots of dreams in my eyes,as I began my college life.I always took part in curricular activities at college.Such as theatre, debate etc. Most of the time I was given the opportunity to host these shows.Impressed by me,many of female students of my college used to to propose me.I studied hard with my friends but also had a blast.’

After completing his mass communication from Delhi Sanjay embarked on his professional career. He worked for some news papers and channels but continued his activities in the field of acting, anchoring and other social and cultural programmes.Gradualy as Sanjay began to make a name for himself in these areas even his family accepted him ,and from then on,there was no looking back for him.
